RASMUS APU RY - Book illustration

I illustrated a touching but also comforting book for Rasmus Apu ry, in which the lives of Niko and his younger siblings change when their terminally ill mother moves into a hospice. The last summer together captures the sadness of letting go, but also moments of happiness that carry far into the future.

The book is not a traditional children’s book, but its purpose is to support discussions between adults and children about the big questions of life and death. The book will be distributed to families with children who are affected by the death of a family member. The books will be donated to many hospices operating in Finland.
